Why Getting Two Pond Pumps Is Not A Luxury But A Must. By Peter GonzalezDo you ever wonder why you carry a spare tire for your car? Obviously you have one because when you get a flat you can change the tire, but more importantly you will not be stuck in the middle of nowhere. Although I realize I am using a loose analogy here a pond pump is to a pond what a spare tire is in your car. You have a pond pump already keeping your water garden clean, but if it breaks down you are placed in a predicament especially if submersible pond pumps are difficult to find in your area. By having a back-up pond pump you can calmly then either look for a new pond pump or perhaps your waiting for an exchange on a pond pump that still has a warranty. You know you will not loose any sleep then knowing your precious koi and fish in your pond are still in clean water. Furthermore, if you do decide to make the right choice in getting a backup pond pump it is recommended that you get an equal strength pond pump but no less then 25% the strength of your primary pond pump if you want your back-up pond pump to be effective in your water garden. For the cost of a nice koi, you can have a pond pump that will help the health of many koi. Just losing one koi to dirty pond water will have you regretting you did not have that back-up pond pump. When buying a pond kit knowing what the size of the water garden the pond kit will build you is important at check out time and you want to get it all at one time. Normally pond kits will say somewhere on the box or description what kind of pond pump is in one. |
